Canby Jiu Jitsu Scholarship Program Guidelines

Canby Jiu Jitsu is committed to keeping our membership fees as low as possible to make training accessible to our community. In addition, we’re proud to offer a limited number of scholarships for students who are passionate about jiu jitsu but may need additional financial assistance. This program is made possible through the support of our local community and is designed to help those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to train.

Who Can Apply?

  • Newly registered students who have completed a 1 week trial.

  • Youth and adult students with financial need.

  • Those who demonstrate a strong commitment to training and personal growth.

  • Individuals and families who value community involvement.

  • Those experiencing extenuating circumstances that impact their ability to afford membership.

Scholarship Options:

  • Partial membership scholarships are available based on need and funding availability.

  • Scholarships cover membership tuition for the first 12 months when meeting regular attendance requirements. After initial scholarship period, as long as training is consistent and financial need is still present, scholarship may continue upon request.

  • Scholarships for one set of uniform fees (specify gi or no gi) are available. Current members and scholarship recipients may apply.

  • Scholarships for competition entry fees are also available, requested are needed for each competition. Current members and scholarship recipients may apply.

How to qualify and apply:

  • Complete a 1 week trail at Canby Jiu Jitsu.

  • Request a scholarship application at CanbyJiuJitsu@gmail.com.

  • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and the number of scholarships available will be based on availability of scholarship funds.

  • Applications will be reviewed by our scholarship panel, and recipients will be notified.

Commitment Requirement: Scholarship recipients are required to attend at least 8 classes per month to maintain eligibility. If a student drops below this average for longer than 2 months, without communicating extenuating circumstances, the scholarship award may be withdrawn so other athletes may considered.
